On November 3rd, we rescued a tortoise. If my reasearch is correct it is a female Western Box Turtle. (Still don’t know what the diference between a land turtle and a tortoise is……) The orange/ redish face is how we know she is a she. No name yet, any suggestions? Her owner kept letting her ”go” because he was “sick of her.” Unfortunately any captive tortiose “released” means certain death. Fortunately a neighbor saved her and found us through our home teacher. I guess Utah doesn’t have a reptile refuge like California, Arizona, and other surrounding states. She has beautiful yellow spots on her arms and bright orangeish red face. Isn’t she pretty?
Here are some more pics of our other non-human babies:
Look! They’re groomed!
